Postponed to the 28th January 2021 (the show will last on 2nd Febrary 2021), Baselworld remains the must-attend beacon event in luxury watches and jewelry.
Baselworld 2020+ concept of a platform of experiences and the building of a large community active throughout the year is meeting with a very positive response not only from exhibitors, but also from all the key players in the sector. Through 2020+ strategy Baselworld is working to be not only the best business platform in the industry, but also the most varied and comprehensive as possible. Baselworld will host the Time Æon Foundation at its 2020 edition. For this premiere in Basel, the Foundation will be located in the heart of Les Ateliers, as close as possible to its stakeholders. Baselworld is evolving into a platform of experiences. By hosting the Time Æon Foundation, Baselworld will offer its 80,000 visitors the unique opportunity to discover and admire a genuine workshop dedicated to traditional watchmaking by hand, organised around a workshop on traditional decoration led by master watchmaker Michel Boulanger.

The Gems & Pearls sector is also making a significant comeback with 50% growth, and the Technical sector is regaining confidence with 100% growth also this year. The expo will host Phillips in Association with Bacs&Russo, the world’s leading auction house in the watch market, exceeding CHF 110 million in 2019, breaking several world records including several watches exceeding CHF 1 million. For this premiere, Phillips in Association with Bacs&Russo will exhibit to the general public, on the one hand a selection of the most prestigious watches, modern and vintage highlights from its spring auctions, some of which have never been seen by the general public, and on the other hand a selection of extraordinary watches lent by private collectors for the pleasure of sharing them with as many people as possible.
The Luxury Innovation Award winners will see their brand brought to the attention of the people who matter the most and allow their company to take a giant leap ahead of competitors. Each shortlisted startup will be invited to showcase itself at Baselworld, the most prestigious luxury exhibition in the world. About fifteen new independent watch brands have decided to join Baselworld in 2020, all grouped together under a new banner – The Watch Lounge, a new space that complements Les Ateliers on a more informal atmosphere aimed at bringing together 15 brands with media and collectors in a relaxed way.
